Monday at about 10 a.m., a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of Routes 60 and 83 in the town of Pomfret resulted in two injured people and a lot of crunched metal. According to police reports, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene, where they found that Samantha Klein, 18, of Forestville; David W. McQuay, 55, of Dunkirk; and Pamela E. Johnson, 65, of Jamestown had been involved in an automobile crash. Reportedly, Klein was traveling southbound on Route 60 and struck a stopped vehicle operated by McQuay, who had stopped to make a left turn onto Route 83. The impact of this crash pushed McQuay’s vehicle and it spun around into the northbound lane, where his vehicle was struck by Johnson’s northbound vehicle. Klein and a passenger in McQuay’s vehicle were transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk for minor injuries. Klein was issued a traffic ticket for following too closely.
